Topografías uses the body’s skin as defining contour and cyphered parchment-ground, canvas map or engraver’s plate. A critique of visual determinism by filleting the differentiated configurations and documented singularities of discourses that sought to standardize perception and typologize ethnic, moral and gender particulars. The body is treated as physical geography – a utopian map of a habitable place: the displaced residence of a fractured or transitory identity.
